A storefront, built inside NTJ.

An experimental commerce engine — product catalogue, a WooCommerce-based checkout, orders, and inventory alerts — built to support the commerce side of our client work. It is still in development and is not a finished product.

What's in the box

Everything you need to run a shop. Nothing you don't.

PopCart isn't a "platform" you have to configure for six weekends. It's the basics, done well, with the harder bits already wired in.

Product catalog

Add photos, prices, and variants (size, color, material). Stock is tracked per SKU. If you've already got a spreadsheet, import it and skip the typing.

WooCommerce checkout

Checkout runs on WooCommerce, so payment handling is whatever gateway plugin the install is configured with. Nothing is wired up by default.

Order management

Status, shipping, tracking, and refunds sit in one view. Print a label, mark an order fulfilled, or refund it without leaving the page.

Abandoned cart recovery

When someone leaves items behind, PopCart emails them a nudge. It hands off to Flowly on its own, so it's your wording and your timing.

Inventory alerts

Get a heads-up before something sells out. On backorders, customers see an honest ship date and you see what to restock first.

Multi-currency display

Show prices in your visitor's currency so nobody's doing math. Conversion happens at checkout, and your books still settle in one currency.

How an order flows

From "huh, nice" to "thanks for your order" in 90 seconds.

What happens between a customer's first click and a tracking number in their inbox. PopCart handles each step — and quietly hands off to the rest of N.T.J where it makes sense.

Who PopCart is for

Built for makers and small brand owners.

Not enterprise. Not dropshippers running 4,000 SKUs. Real shops with real products and a story behind them.

Brand owners

Run a focused shop.

Your products, your story, your brand. PopCart stays out of the way, so your customer never spots a "Powered by" badge or a checkout that looks like everyone else's.

Boutiques & craft sellers

Made in your studio, sold to anywhere.

No app store, no "approved partner" plug-ins, no features locked behind another paywall. Ship internationally without setting up anything extra.

Service businesses

Sell merch alongside your services.

Run a podcast, agency, or consultancy? Add a t-shirts-and-books shop to the site you already have, and skip learning a whole new platform to do it.

Back of house

What the back-of-house looks like.

Most commerce admins hide the messy bits. PopCart shows you everything — paid, awaiting, failed, refunded, abandoned. You can't fix what you can't see.

Diverse states matter

"Failed retry" and "Refund processing" aren't hidden away in a settings menu. They're in the main view because they need your attention.

Abandoned carts are orders too

That €189 hasn't left the building yet. Flowly is already sending the recovery sequence — you can see what it sent and when.

One revenue chart, one truth

Revenue here is net of refunds and gateway fees. No second dashboard required to find out what you actually made.

Common questions

Things people ask before opening a shop.

How do I take payments?

PopCart's storefront is built on WooCommerce, so the checkout takes payments through whichever gateway plugin the install is configured with. That configuration is a setup step, not something that ships switched on — there is no payment provider connected by default.

We run PopCart internally against our own setup. It is an experiment, not a product you can sign up for, so there is no onboarding flow and no hosted payment integration on offer here.

What about taxes and shipping?

Taxes: PopCart calculates VAT/sales tax based on the customer's address using region-aware rates. For US sellers crossing a state nexus threshold, we'll flag it — you can plug in a service like Stripe Tax or TaxJar for full automation.

Shipping: define your zones, your rates, and your carriers. We print labels for the major ones (USPS, UPS, FedEx, Royal Mail, La Poste, DPD, DHL). Tracking is sent automatically once a label is printed.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes — that's the default, not a paid add-on. Point your domain at PopCart, we handle the SSL certificate and the routing. Your customers never see "popcart" anywhere in the URL or the checkout.

You can also run PopCart on a subdomain (shop.yourbrand.com) if your main site is built elsewhere.

What if I have an existing Shopify store?

We have an importer that pulls your products, variants, inventory levels, and customer list from Shopify. The order history stays in Shopify — we don't migrate orders mid-flight — but everything forward of the cutover happens in PopCart.

If you'd rather run both for a while, you can. Some customers do that for a season before fully switching.

Features in depth

Everything PopCart does.

The pieces you need to open a shop in an afternoon, and to keep it ticking over quietly once you have.

Product catalog

Add each product with photos, a description, and a price, then group them into collections.

WooCommerce checkout

Checkout runs on WooCommerce, so it takes payments through whichever gateway plugin the install is configured with.

Order management

See every order in one place and mark each one paid, packed, or shipped as you work through them.

Abandoned cart recovery

When a shopper leaves items in their cart, PopCart emails them a reminder to come back and finish.

Inventory alerts

Set a low-stock threshold on each product and we'll tell you before it runs out.

Multi-currency display

Show prices in a shopper's local currency so they know what they're paying before checkout.

Tax rules by region

Set the tax rate for each region you sell to, and PopCart adds it at checkout for you.

Discount codes and promotions

Make a percentage or fixed-amount code and pick when it starts and when it stops working.

Shipping zones

Group the places you ship to into zones, then set one rate for each zone.

Customer accounts (optional)

Let shoppers make an account to save their details and check past orders, or keep it guest-only. Your call.

Product variants (size, color)

Offer one product in a few sizes and colors, and track stock for each variant on its own.

Digital product delivery

Sell downloads and the buyer gets a private link to their file the moment payment clears.

Use cases

How teams put PopCart to work.

A ceramicist selling a small batch

You list a run of mugs, each as its own product with a stock count. When a glaze sells out, the listing goes unavailable on its own and an alert nudges you to fire the next batch.

A design studio selling templates

You sell Notion and Figma templates as digital products. Buyers pay at checkout and get their download link right away, so there's nothing to pack or ship.

A coffee roaster shipping locally

You set up shipping zones for your city, your region, and the rest of the country, each with its own rate. Regulars make an account and reorder their usual bags in a couple of clicks.
